Possible Locations For Cover...

This photo would be good for my magazine cover because it is the front entrance to the school, so it would be the first thing people see when they first enter the school. It is also good as it is the perfect size for mid shot and has the school's logo in the background.

This would be a good photo for the magazine as it is the school's main building. I would like to use this shot in the magazine, however, it would not be appropriate for the cover as this would need to be a full body shot.

This is an example of a photo that would not be suitable. It is only a staircase so it is not clear that it is even a school let alone Beaverwood.

Although this is just a draft and the real photo would have better lighting, I feel that this would be a good location for the cover. The building is relatively new and I as I will be having a sixth form student on the cover it will tie in better if they are standing outside the sixth form block. This is also suitable for a mid shot and has the school's logo in the background.

My first impressions of the magazine: I like the way they have used photos to go along with the text, as it makes it more vivid and keeps it from looking dull. The title and date are at the top of the cover so they are very clear for the reader to see. I like the way they have emphasised the theme, Valentines, by using pink to represent love and passion.

How I Feel About The Upcoming Year...

Today I discovered that I am going to be creating a school magazine. I am not too familiar with this as I have never created a magazine before, but I am looking forward to doing something different and challenging myself.
For our coursework we also have to create a music magazine. I think I will enjoy this task as I don't read music magazines, so it will be interesting to research into this. However, I think I will struggle to choose only one music genre and will end up changing ideas throughout the process. The task will consist of:

• Creating a front cover for the magazine- Iam looking forward to this as it is a chance to be creative and attempt to do photography.
• Creating a contents page- Again I am not familiar with music magazines, so will have to research into this.
